Excellent starting material

Best for: Household products, packaging and everyday consumer goods.

  • Advantages: Low density, good chemical resistance, living hinges and fatigue resistance.
  • Limitations: Can warp; impact performance varies with grade and temperature.
  • Typical melt temperature: Around 190–250°C.
  • Typical mould temperature: Around 20–60°C.
  • Common products: Buckets, mugs, bottle caps, chairs, storage boxes and food containers.

Manufacturing insight: PP is often a good starting point for general-purpose injection moulding because it is widely used and available in many grades. For thin-wall products, choose the grade based on flow requirements and test shrinkage before finalising the mould.
